Six-mile handcar tour for up to four people across the Monterey Branch Line. Minimum age is 10 years old and closed toed shoes are required. The price is for one-handcar that carries up to four people. A minimum of two people is required. This is a guided tour with our fleet of handcars traveling together, with trained guides traveling with the group to the front and rear. The experience is approximately 2 hours long. This is not a passive ride and participants need to be prepared for physical exertion. For their safety, this activity is not recommended for people with developmental disabilities, including those within the autism spectrum.
We also have available a two person electric assist rail bicycle that operates like a bicycle on rails. The machine has electric assist to help up the steep hills of the Monterey Branch Line. At this time we only have a single rail bicycle available as we work to manufacture a new fleet of machines. Our rail bicycle can accommodate younger children and is better suited for those with developmental disabilities, contact us for details.
